For out of towners: this is a very nice casual restaurant. No need to dress up and super family friendly. Lots of kids and babies here. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating available. We ordered the escargot and the clams and oyster combo for an appetizer. They were delicious. Highly recommend. 10/10 We ordered the shrimp bisque. It wasn't great. Too thick - more like a chowder than a bisque. Pass for next time. 4/10 We got the Kings platter and it was very tasty! Highly recommend. 9/10 I tried ordering one of the swordfish specials but the waitress misunderstood me and brought just a regular grilled swordfish. It was plain but cooked well. 5/10 The key lime pie was also very good! 8/10 But the best was our service. I spilled my alcoholic drink and the waitress helped me clean up and brought me a second drink at no charge. She also comped our dessert when she realized she had brought me the wrong dinner. 10/10 for service!
Good food, can be a little pricey, but not outrageous. But then again I absolutely love seafood
The Prawnbroker restaurant was a valuable find as the restaurant had all that could be wanted. Nice ambiance with a hometown feeling and very relaxed setting The food was wonderful, starting with Escargot and then a delectible fish entree The service was even better: provided by Laurie and done so professionally I would eat there at least twice a week if I lived on the west Coast of florida Prices by the way were comparable to other fine restaurants
I think that whoever comes to the Prawnbroker should come with an understanding that this restaurant has been around for quite sometime and is a local favorite. It does have an outdated feeling but it's charming in a weird way. I am not a fan of restaurants that have carpet and the aesthetics do look outdated but I trusted the reviews and wanted to come try this place out. We came on a Friday night and it was busy, not packed but large parties and families here dining. We felt at home and our server was very friendly and chatty. We ordered lobster and chilean sea bass, we enjoyed our food. I had ordered the shrimp bisque, I wish it had more flavor but it was great that they had unique items. I loved that they put anchiovies in their ceasar, i thought it was great.
We had dinner on 8/10/24 and food and service were great. We had oysters and the Crunch grouper and shrimp dinner, it was very good
Fabulous. Was in town and had visited The Prawnbroker once maybe 7 years ago and remembered it was good. Glad I picked this spot for my birthday dinner this year. Great prices on fresh seafood, great portions, and great service. Can't wait to go back.
Friday night with friends, took advantage of the early specials menu ($18). The location has been there for years, and the restaurant while very clean looked a bit dated. Service was outstanding, and the food was very good. Make a reservation as the place gets busy. We will be back with family next time and explore more of the menus.
The food is always delicious, never wavers. Our waitress mucked up our bills, but it was corrected in a respectful manner. Parking is easy
I haven't been to the Prawnbroker in many, many years. I have been watching YouTube and all their cooking shows featuring shellfish, and have been craving some clams and oysters. So I looked at Prawnbroker's special appetizer menu and we decided to go. Rachel and Mandy were our waitresses. At first we just had two appetizers at $8 each and two drinks. I had the clams casino and David had the Prawnbroker's shrimp. Mine was 5 clams with breadcrumbs and bacon on top. David's was a plentiful amount of shrimp covered in a creamy, spicy sauce. It reminded me of bang-bang shrimp. While the appetizers just whet our appetite, we saw Bouillabaisse on the menu. We ordered two and there were clams, mussels, scallops and fish in a delicious saffron broth with toasted garlic bread. It came with a choice of soup or salad. Because we are twins lol!, we chose the New England Clam Chowder. I think we could have shared one! The atmosphere was old and reminiscent of bars that are very woody and classy. There is an outside patio and you can bring your dog. Also a really pretty courtyard between the restaurants. The two waitresses were friendly, helpful and super hard working! We had a lovely time and will return soon!
First time here. I'm a local, and I didn't know what I have been missing! Excellent dinner and service tonight with a group of neighborhood friends! I opted for the baked haddock! What a great choice! Light, flaky filet, drizzled with butter and topped with a parmesan coating. For my sides, I chose a house salad with ranch dressing and a baked potato. Both were quite yummy. The vegetable of the night was green beans. They were a little too crunchy for my taste, but softer greens are just my preference. This restaurant is quite large with plenty of seating. Our server, Blake, didn't miss a beat with our party of 12. Highly recommend!
